HAMR5600 based AMR/CNR/MDC/ACR modem controllers on some Southbridge mainboard chips are supported by the SmartLink daemon "slmodemd", when used in conjunction with the appropriate ALSA module for that device.  slmodemd performs the modem hardware emulation.
